View Full Version : Bob question

I have a progressive source that I need to bob to double the frame rate for further processing.
In a case like this is there any point using one of the smart bob options? Most seem to concentrate on removing residual combing. However as the source I have is 100% progressive there won't be any combing, will there?
Thanks.

Are you trying to interpolate the new frames or simply double the existing ones?

They will be interpolated...

bobbers don't interpolate.
use MVTools2 or MotionProtectedFPS.

Yes, I know that. That wasn't the question!
Interpolation comes later.

There is no point in using bob. It will double framerate but resolution will be halved. You probably need just copy every frame.

That's way too nebulous to give reasonable advice.
What exactly do you have, and what exactly you're going to do?

I'll re-think my approach and the question. I tend to forget that people aren't mind readers!
