ok heres my scenario
2 pass DivX 4 encode done of film, the file is a little smaller than i would like so i am going to up the bitrate slightly (about 2bits for every megabyte sound ok?)...is it possible to now use the first pass information that has already been generated so i only have to do the second pass and not another 2passes?

by that do u mean it will work
the method im trying is just going save and encode, giving the avs files new names and then choosing 2nd pass only from the top left...sound right? :) or sound wrong? :(

what i used to do was just use the same avs and divx4.log and encode from virtualdub. take a looksee in the GKnot log, and stick in the new bitrate (after audio calc and credit encoding) and then fast-recomp. should work, but the filesizes can be a bit unpredictable. i've noticed the increases aren't linear wrt to the increments in bitrate.

good luck

you don't have to save a new avs for that. just go to the encoder-tab and "add job".
