Hi!I am using anydvd version 5.6.1.1... i know its an old copy but it still works for most dvds. the only ones i really have problems with is Lionsgate dvd's.And now you're also having problems with an Image Entertainment release.

The simplest think would probably be for you to go online to Slysoft and download the updated version of your purchased "AnyDVD"...

AnyDVD 5.6.1.1 was released on November 27, 2005. You are using a completely outdated version of the software. Go to the Slysoft website and download the latest official version (v6.5.5.9) or download the latest beta version (v6.5.6.4) from the Slysoft forums. I would recommend installing the latest beta release.

When using an up-to-date version of AnyDVD there is no issue whatsoever with the Region 1 release of The Haunting in Connecticut and the problem you are having with The Edge of Love will likely also vanish when you've updated.

Expecting a nearly 4 year old version of the software to work is... illogical and why you are using a 4 year old version is baffling.

Ok so apparantly i had a copy of anydvd that may not have had a serial number  woops... i got it from my friend years ago for free.... so when i downloaded the new verision it said that my trial period had expired.

i guess thats why i have kept the old verison so long.

another quesiton what is the difference between the beta and the regular version? and also does anyone know how to get a free copy of just the basic anydvd?? similar to dvdfab free version?

Please don't discuss warez, it's against the forum rules. Discussions of trial software is permitted.

If the trial period expired message appeared then either your friend never paid for it to begin with and got his license from somewhere else or it may simply be because he shared the license with you. The EULA was broken. The license is blacklisted so the registration is now null and void.

There is no free version of AnyDVD. You get what you pay for.

The site is safe, yes.

That's really up to the individual. Is the software worth it for what it does? IMHO, yes. If you know that you will be transitioning to Blu-Ray at some point then it would be worth buying AnyDVD HD. That said, you also have the option of purchasing an AnyDVD license and then upgrading to AnyDVD HD at a later time.

Guys, this is a last warning before people start getting strikes and the thread is closed. No warez discussion.

I just wanna state that in Denmark, reinstalling the very same version of windows with the very same license nr. is perfectly legal no matter what MS says about it, due to the legislation of my country.
In other words:
1) You buy a Dell or HP or whatever with OEM OS and you are entitled to reformate the hard disk as many times as possible and reinstall the very same OS. Then you may, legally, install whatever NEW trial version of a program that is available
2) No matter what MS says, you are also allowed to reinstall the very same OS if the hard disk is changed(damaged)
3) No matter what MS says, you are enable to legally reinstall
a normal version of win into a new PC as long as the license is used on 1 PC and 1 PC only.
This has been stated by The danish user council according to the legislation of my country.
I've reinstalled several times in both cases after a short call to MS to get a new serial when required. No questions asked!
I'm not sure about the EULAs consequences in other countries.
Another example:
No matter what the producent states, in Denmark, the user has (practically) 2 years warrantee on (almost) everything bought. You buy a TV, a recorder, dvd stand alone player, a car, a bycycle, a freezer or whatever and you are entitled to reparation or a new unit within 2 years.
So, check the rules in your own country: what's illegal in a country is not illegal in another 1
