Hey. I wonder, why isn't there info in the container on what exact way to decode (play) a video encoded using IVTC or interlacing (in many ways)?
Can a video that is not progressive video cannot (in many cases) be automatically played properly the way it is now?
Are there other tools except MeGUI's 'analyze' to determine what to do with a IVTC/interlaced source?
Cheers
EDIT: Changed deinterlaced to "interlaced", of course :)

Deinterlaced/IVTCed video is progressive, the playback is always fine. Maybe what you mean is interlaced or pulldowned video.
If you enable both hardware deinterlace and hardware IVTC of your graphic card, the playback of interlaced video will be very fine. Software realtime deinterlacing is usually much worse.

I just want to know a good way to determine what kind of AviSynth-filters to use on some weird sources, eac3to is good at do a pulldown of the source video. Thanks.

Wait, what?
1) IVTC'd video should be 100% progressive (unless something failed). IVTC is inverse telecine, or a way to remove telecine.
2) For realtime playback (using the AviSynth filter in ffdshow?), you should use TIVTC for telecined and maybe TDeint for interlaced content. For hybrid content, maybe TIVTC without decimation.
3) Wait what, eac3to?
