Well I broke down and bought Speed. But it still has the same problem! I can't use the disc on my PC. It plays fine on a PS3, though it takes a long time to load. Neither Win XP x64 with MEI UDF, nor DumpHD 0.61, nor AnyDVD HD 6.5.5.9 trial can copy it!

Hi!

My original plays fine on my PC (I'm using PowerDVD 7.3 with NO updates).

I successfully made a "movie-only" backup by ripping it with (presently freeware) "MakeMKV" and then using (freeware) "tsMuxeR" to convert to a BluRay "package"...

I am beginning to think it is an issue with the drive:
LG Super Multi Blue GGC-H20L firmware version 1.03

because the problem persists after un-installing UDF drivers.

I have the same issue with Mr. & Mrs. Smith!

What is actually happening? Does the drive show a blink code? Looks the disc empty in the explorer? Does aacskeys report an error while accessing it?

When I put the disc in the drive it makes an unusual clicking noise. PowerDVD freezes. It took about 2 minutes (!) longer than usual, but DumpVID found the VID.

Once I started DumpHD, it kept skipping each file. It would try to read a file, then fail with "I/O CRC error". It would skip the file and go on to the next one, but fail.

Well, thats strange. I thought the disc has some sort of mastering error that damaged the file system and prevents you from reading the files. But because you have written that DumpHD skips every file and you have acquired the VID manually i assume you retrieved the VUK yourself too so at least the MKB file and the Unit Key file could be read.

Have you tried to copy all the files off the disc with the windows explorer? Are there any files that can be read? Quite strange however that the PS3 can read the disc, maybe a bad pressing and the PS3 drive is more tolerant to this?

I was afraid to copy the files with Windows Explorer because I do not know if it checks for errors. I did try to make an ISO of it with ImgBurn, but that failed with read errors.
