TIO: Listen, making backup might not be illegal. But what is illegal and against this forums laws is given links to warez. So don't do it, ok.

There are a lot of people who wants to get rid of that logo. So I thought I don't speak about cracks but just provide a link to the website that will help. I knew that it was forbidden to speak about cracks or anything like that. But I wasn't aware that it is forbidden to place a link. So I'm sorry for that. I have had a good sleep so I'm cooling down now.
But There is nobody who has helped me with those CCE freezings so I thought I shall help some people and maybe they would help me to. I've read al the forums and done what the options told but nothing helped me so far. Of all the movies I backup there are 2 to 10 that don't freeze. So thats very irritating.

follow the rules - nuff said there
dvd2svcd is doing some awesome work with the cce freezing problem
so to say that 'no-one is helping with the freeze problem' is totally off track
the latest version has a safe mode under the cce tab
try that
also try adjusting your bitrates as per a lot of the other posts in this forum
i was having a lot of cce problems - following advice from this forum and by using each updated version - the problem is becoming a rare one
be nice - and hang in there :)

TIO: Did you try Build 2 Pre 1? There's a CCE Safe mode you could try. There's a link for it in this thread:

Look for the last post from me.

Hello DVD2SVCD,
What does the option Save Mode do in build 2 pre 1. I mean what is it's function?
Can I use the default settings?
Thanks an you're the best;)

safe mode will use a pseudo-avi to frameserve the movie for CCE, instead of an avs file. It seems that such pseudo-avi is more stable than avs, and you can use CCE SP 2.62 with it also. However, you will have a decrease of encoding speed, which can be of 20% at least.

Hello Mozart,
As I understand I can uninstall CCE 2.50 SP and install CCE 2.62. Maybe is that version much more stable.
It wouldt be great to hear from you.

Well... I didn't test it just because I don't have ANY problems with CCE 2.50, and I love its speed of encoding. However, since this information comes from readme file... yes, you can use version 2.62.
from dvd2svcd readme:
I have added support for VFAPI. I have done this for two reasons. It seems to be more stable when using with CCE. And it gives you the possibility of using CCE 2.62 or 2.64, but I do NOT recommend using 2.64, I have not had anything but problems with this version (when doing Multipass). The use of VFAPI will slowdown the encoding speed approx. 25-40%.

Thanks Mozart for the tip. Great that you don't have problems with CCE but I do. I shall first covert a dvd to svcd with DVD2SVCD Build 2 Pre 1. If that don't works I shall uninstall CCE 2.50 SP and install 2.62 and find out if that will work. Tomorrow I shall post if it works.
BTW: Do I need to pay attention about what kind of settings I have to use?
And if both programs (CCE 2.50 or 2.62) don't work is it then possible that you mail me your program? Because you don't have problems with CCE. I really would appriciate (bat english) it.
Thanks in advance

No, there is no special setting. Let the bitrate tab as default and checkmark safe mode. Any problem... ask by PM.

Well, it didn't out oke. I looked this morning and CCE couldn't find *.ecl file. So I think there is something wrong in the build 2 pre 1 version. I shall try it again tonight with version 1.0.5 build 2.
You will hear from me again!
Greetings

27th January 2002, 13:40
hi,
did you try crash recovery? It seems that this message - cannot find ecl file - has some correlation with the speed of refresh of the machine. Do you know how dvd2svcd works with CCE?
1) dvd2svcd starts cce, loads the avs and saves the ecl;
2) dvd2svcd modifies the ecl using the calculated bitrate;
3) dvd2svcd loads the modified ecl and starts cce encoding.
Well, if the machine have no time to refresh CCE between step 1 and step 3, cce will not find the ecl file. This may be the problem.
To verify if this is the problem, try to make handly those steps above.

Hello,
I'm sorry I deleted all the files so I can't do Crash Recovery. But I we do that when the program gives the same "error".
BTW I've send you a message to PM.

Hello Mozart,
Well at this moment I'm converting the movie Dracula 2002. This morning, before I went to work, it was heading the good direction. CCE was at 85% and RUNNING. I will call later in the morning with my girlfriend to ask if the SVCD has finished.
But I had to use 1.0.4 build 2 because the other version gave something like a error. It displayed something with "list".
But I had some questions for you:
1. Witch version are you using?
2. Is the movie PAL or NTSC? I don't no if PAL gives more problems than NTSC.
3. What are your setting of dvd2svcd?
4. Which OS are you using? Windows XP etc.
I hope you can tell me something about your settings because you don't have any problems. BTW the patch has done his work.
Anyway thanks very much for all the help that you've given.
Greetings from the Netherlands

Well hello Mozart,
I don't have good news today. CCE didn't crash (that's the good news). But it had a problem to muxed the file together. So an error at that point. Maybe I no what the reason is. First I converted the movie with 1.0.5 build 2 than it stuck at Video encoding so the sound was ready for use. Than I uninstalled that version and installed version 1.0.4. build 2. I did Crash Recovery and began with video encoding. Everything went fine until the muxing part. I should try to install 1.0.5 build 2 and do crash recovery so it begins with muxing. Maybe that will help. But do you think that could be the case of the error, when I switch between 2 versions of DVD2SVCD?
Thanks and I'll be back.

1) 1.0.6 build 1 and build 2 pre 2;
2) Here in Brasil, the broadcast is PAL, however the DVD source is NTSC. Thus, I'm encoding NTSC;
3) Almost default. CCE settings depends of the source - interlaced or progressive; porno or anime; etc...
4) since my first experience with DVD2SVCD, I have had used win98 SE, winME, win2000 and, nowadays, winXP home and professional.

Hello again,
Mozart, yesterday I've installed 1.0.6 build 2 pre 2 and of course CCE. But everything went fine until dvd2svcd started CCE. CCE went white and nothing was to read anymore. DVD2SVCD and CCE where not working anymore. I no DVD2SVCD does his best but I think he changes so much in his version that nothing works anymore. I had this problem with pre 1 and now with pre 2.
BTW I've tried to install CCE 2.62 SP because the pre versions should be able to work with this CCE but it isn't. When I install that version I get the message that CCE 2.62 SP is the wrong version.
At this moment I converting Dracula (PAL) with 1.0.5 build 3. I let you no how it went. At this moment it went fine.
Maybe this is also something for the Author of DVD2SVCD to look at.
But I want to thank you Mozart that you are willing to read this and that you help me with the troubles. Maybe by reading my problems you no what could be the problem.
Thanks your the greatest!:D

To get 2.62 to work you must check safe mode.
If you didn't check it it won't work.

OK, But when I installed CCE 2.62 SP and after that DVD2SVCD I get the message displayed. Not when I want to convert a movie. I don't even get the change to check save mode.

Well, finally at last the movie has finished. Yoepie. No CCE errors or freezings. So I will be continuing to use 1.0.5 build 3 cause this is the program that still works with me. The pre-versions above 1.0.6 don't work for me. I'll will left this post for a while.
If someone knows any great solution for all the problems with 1.0.6 he's welcome.
Bye bye and greetings:D :D :D :D :D :) :) :) :) :)
