I have a Region A blu-ray disc (Mirrors) which I have ripped using Any-HD but can't get rid of the code. I have then used bd-rb but I can't get rid of the code, and even re-ripped that copy through Any-HD. Blu-Ray Code Remover hasn't been updated for some time and doesn't seem to think the disc is protected. I have two versions of powerdvd on my pc (one set to Region A and the other Region B) and the Region A version plays all of the versions fine, but the Region B one gives a Region A warning.
Are there any instructions on how to manually change the code, and if the 'code' is corrupted is a device likely to default to a certain region?

**For information, BDedit also says 'Region code checking not found'.

Hi!I have a Region A blu-ray disc (Mirrors) which I have ripped using Any-HD but can't get rid of the code.If the answer is obvious, please forgive me but, what necessitates removing the Region code from your BluRay backup?

I'm not sure why it matters to you but for what it's worth I got Region A discs when they were cheaper / released earlier as I played them on my HTPC and it's easy to change the code on Powerdvd. I now have a standalone player and as I make backups I need them to be Region free or Region B.

I'm not sure why it matters to youInnate curiosity - since I couldn't think of a reason to have to do so...

Thanks for sharing ;>}

Did you try this tool (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=135620)?

Yes but it said it could find no protection.

ps Have you made the mod we discussed in January:

Thanks! With the help of your logfile, I have found the source of "count cannot be less than zero" error. Nothing particularly exciting, just SIG-BD00.SF (signature file) inside .jar files on such discs uses char(10) only instead of char(13) + char(10) as new line delimiter. The program does not expect this at all. I will update it soon.

Sorry, not yet. But I still hope to update this program in the future...

Can you please tell (or send me in PM) the name of the title (and its country of origin) you are working with? If "Blu-ray region code remover" says it is not region coded, then most likely it's not. Though I remember it had issues with some Liongate's titles where region coding was implemented in a strange way, not supported by this program...

EDIT: Found it in your original message... And it's Fox's disc, not Liongate's. Also, if AnyDVD cannot remove region code from this disc, did you try to report the problem on their forum? I suspect, they will be able to react faster than me... :)

Actually, in this case I was more interested in the process than actually achieving a region free disc.

Which file controls the region and what happens if it isn't present?
