CCE encoding fails

I have an up-to-spec machine (athlon900/384mb/40gig) running windows XP, and when using DVD2SVCD_1.0.6_b1 the following error occurs at the CCE stage:

"cce encoding failed: AVIstreamread() failed (0x80004005): unknown error"

from what I gather this error translates roughly as 'unable to find your data'

d2v project file opens and previews in dvd2avi
avs file opens and plays in windows media player

sound is disabled in CCE as i understand it should be.
There is no sound channel in the avs stream - is this correct?

when loading .ecl file separately and attempting to encode, cce encoding fails once again.

I can't figure this out!!!!

I'm getting the same error. At first I thought it was a bad file or something - but when I recaptured the AVI, I still had the problem (diff. portion of video).

I can't figure out why this is happening. I am using a full avi (w/audio), turning off the audio and trying a 4 pass VBR encode. It dies during the VAF file creation.
