Sorry I don't know where this topic should go.

I have an .mpg file which plays the video but no sound on my Philips DVP-3140/37 DivX player.

I tried to convert it to mp3 but it doesn't work either.

Does anyone know how can I fix this to play sound correctly?

TIA

I don't know if a DVD/Divx-Player plays MPG files as such. Why don't you try first converting it into "normal" VOBs or DIVx?

@Stealth3si

Hi!

1) Is it possible that your 3 second-long videoclip is supposed to be silent?

2) What software and procedures did you use to create this 90 frame clip?

3) Does it play with audio on your PC?

Hi!
Sup.

@Stealth3si
1) Is it possible that your 3 second-long videoclip is supposed to be silent?No.

@Stealth3si
2) What software and procedures did you use to create this 90 frame clip?The clip came from a 5 min mpg clip and I simply used MPEG DVD Video Wizard to crop it. No re-encoding or format changes were made.

@Stealth3si
3) Does it play with audio on your PC? Yes.

If, in fact, your standalone player recognizes MPEG2, change the audio to .MP2 format...

setarip_old is right. Quite probably the firmware of your SAP was designed to detect ac3 streams in authored VOBs only, not in a "common" program stream (.mpg file).
