Transcode mpa with Graphedit or with winamp

I recently downloaded a 4 cd svcd and i want to transcode the audio stream.
Which method will achieve better quality, mpa->winamp, as in the guides,or mpa->Graphedit(using the winDvD audio filter).
After the decoding i'll encode with lame

I did some tests and i chose to decode the mpa(mp2) stream with winamp.
The wav file produced with GraphEdit+WinDvD audio filter was not as loud as the one produced by winamp.
