Actually it's 60fps h264 (mvbob). 30fps works fine.

Upon playback with EVR it seems it's dropping a frame at random times and then running to catch back up... all in the blink of an eye. It's not lag, but more like a really quick jerk. This also happens in Haali Renderer.

VMR9 works, as well as Overlay Mixer. However, full color backgrounds seem to bend (it's banding, that stuff sucks!)... kinda like a rainbow shape. Really annoying. The banding does not happen in EVR or Haali.

So as you can see I'm kind of in a hole. Any help? Here's my encoding settings. Only things used in avs script were mvbob and undot()

cabac=1 / ref=5 / deblock=1:0:0 / analyse=0x3:0x133 / me=umh / subme=9 / psy_rd=1.0:0.0 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=2 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=3 / nr=0 / decimate=0 / mbaff=0 / bframes=16 / b_pyramid=1 / b_adapt=2 / b_bias=0 / direct=1 / wpredb=1 / keyint=300 / keyint_min=30 / scenecut=40 / rc=crf / crf=21.0 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=10 / qpmax=51 / qpstep=4 / ip_ratio=1.40 / pb_ratio=1.30 / aq=1:1.00

Edit:

Ok new news. I switched out CoreAVC for ffdshow, and the rainbow stuff was gone. Went back to CoreAVC to tweak some things.... turned out "Input Levels" had to be set to PC rather than auto detect. So all is good now with VMR9 so you can just ignore that paragraph lol.

However I would still like to get it to work on EVR, since it's a pain to switch renderers back and forth when I want to use DXVA for HDTV mpeg/ts and then back to SD h264.

Wow, is my problem so unique nobody can reply? Or do you just not know? :P

Well I tried MadVR renderer just now, same thing happens. However at least it has an OSD function, and it shows nearly 150-200 frames dropped (multiple tests) in a 3 minute 60fps test video. Played a 30fps file of the same exact thing and only had four frames dropped max. Again VMR9 is fine with 60fps.

Anyways I guess nobody can help. See ya :)

tried Reclock? getting butter smooth video playback w/o it is simply impossible.
