As reported over on AVForums, Oppo's BDP-83 can now be made region free (via a hardware mod) for both DVD and Blu-ray disc playback: -

I'm from the Netherlands and anxiously awaiting the moment i can get myself one of these, and this news makes it even more desirable to own one. I've put myself on the newsletter/list, but almost cant wait for news.
