I have a problem...

when i'm converting a divx movie to Mpeg1 (VCD) with the program TMPGenc, option PAL. I get a (sort of) pause after each keyframe (about 2/3 seconds) its very short and almost not noticable, but it is there.. and it bugging the crap out of me!!

But when i encode with NTSC or NTSCFilm... it's not there..

i choose the standard Video-cd PAL / NTSC /NTSCFilm template's

...

Although my DVD player playes both, PAL and NTSC, i find PAL better quality..

pppppppppppllllllleeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseeeeeee :( :( :( help me..

Well Toolman, I'm living in the pal zone, and I tell ya something: NTSC-VCD and NTSC-SVCD looks better than PAL-VCD and PAL-SVCD, because the specifications of VCD & S-VCD are so crappy, you'll get better results (that means less artifacts) using lower resolutions combined with lower framerates.

An NTSC disc looks about 20% better than any PAL disc.

But if you don't want want to hear me, these are the steps:
1) convert your AVI to 25fps using VirtualDub (you don't need to recompress).
2) extract the sound from your original AVI, decode it to WAV, and give it the same duration as your new AVI using a program like WaveLab or Cool Edit or WAV Length Adjust.
3) You can load now the new AVI and the new WAV to do worse looking PAL VCDs
