Greetings. I am not able to find even a single useful video editor with direct rendering or exporting to x264 in the mp4 container. Please help. Thanks in advance.

x264 can use Avisynth input, there is avidemux and then some say you can get some these for-money editors to frameserve into x264.

Thanks. I don't mind a simple editor like Avidemux. But I want it support Chroma and if possible VST audio plugins. Has anyone directly rendered to x264 in Vegas or others? If so, how?

Debugmode Frameserver works with Vegas 8 Pro. It makes a "dummy signpost avi" that you use as input into your x264 encoder or GUI of choice. The only intermediate file is the dummy avi which is a few kb big.
Another option is to render to a lossless intermediate then use that as input into x264 (or GUI)
Another option is to use x264vfw; Vegas and Premiere can use x264vfw directly
