So, I'm writing my book's chapter on H.264, and trying to figure out how to visually show interrelationships when multiple reference frames and pyramid B-frames are on.

Anyone have any good suggestions for past graphics showing this?

And/or how to get that info in data form from an actual encode so I could do my own visualization in Excel somehow?

More broadly, are there any H.264 visualization tools I should be using for screen shots and stuff?

I'd say FFdshow w/ some OSD settings on...could be great for a start and free.

ffdshow OSD doesn't include reference indices.
