View Full Version : DXVA on live HD streams, smooth bobbing??

I have a major issue while watching live HD satellite via DVBviewer. I cannot seem to get super smooth bobbed to 50FPS playback on a live stream.
I use the MPC inbuilt DXVA video filter as my benchmark as this produces fantastic quality, but sadly the stand alone filter will not work with DVBviewer :(
I really need DXVA support as firstly it offers great deinterlacing quality and secondly it helps keep the CPU fan down low when watching TV or a movie etc.
I have tried coreavc and it seems to mess the field order up or something, its not right. I have also tried cyberlink (PCM45) and while its says DXVA, its not quite right either, which is frustrating as it should be the same. FFDshow doesnt offer DXVA support so sadly thats not an option :(
all this is noticable on high motion like football or tennis so even just the odd glitch is enough to put you off.
if anyone has any other suggestions to try, i would be grateful. I shall also try the dvbviewer forum

I'm 100% sure it won't work - you can't read the video back from the graphics card if you're using DXVA, which you'd need to do to apply ffdshow's yadif to the video.
np: Nine Horses - The Banality Of Evil (Snow Borne Sorrow)

Well there goes that idea, in that case all that is left is a good recent videocard with pulldown and adaptive deinterlacing enabled

playing back the recorded TS and it does a great job, i just wish i could get the same quality as im watching it, just seems nothing quite works as it should

The ffdshow team spent weeks fixing problems with live streams.
Basically the best option would be:
Record stream realtime >> fix flags realtime >> decode stream
You would probably have a few minute delay but it would be correctly decoded

is there any chance the MPC decoder could be altered to work with live streams? Its perfect for recorded playback :)

Oh what i would give to be able to use the MPC stand alone filter for live streams and achieve the same quality as the recorded playback :)
