Hi there,
just wanted to install DVD43 on my Windows 7 RC1 as i noticed that it wont work with 64bit. Sucky. Is there any other freeware on-the-fly-program that works with 64bit? Don't want to decrypt the discs to hdd beforehand. thx

Does it really matter that your DVD decryptor program isn't a 64bit application? What benefits do you think that being compiled as 64-bit application would provide you?

Well, DVD43 does not work under x64.
Of course you can also provide me with freeware tools that are designed to work with 32bit, as long as they also work under 64bit which DVD43 does not.

DVDFaB (http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm) is a great one. It doesnt work like dvd43 or anydvd but it does decrypt the disks to your hard drive...

Well I think if I wanted to rip the discs to HD and decrypt them I could also use DVD Decrypter, but actually I wanted on the fly decrypting for letting me rip movies directly from DVD's.
I gave it a try anyway and correct me if I'm wrong, but that program is definitely not freeware.

GPL (sources here (http://www.fairusewizard.com/Release/fu-src.zip))
It's pretty good to me but it needs an update...
BTW MediaCoder (http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/) should do this too (and there's a x64 version).

DVD Decrypter is too out of date now to cope with the latest protections however DVDFab will deal with all of these.
The ripping component of DVDFab is freeware.

the OP needs an on-the-fly decrypter... all those softwares do not "work" on the fly.
however, i dont know any other software that can do that AND work on 64bit OSes (except anydvd).

There is DVD Region+CSS Free which works on x64 Vista the last time I tried. It does on the fly decryption and worked for any DVD I've played but I don't have any that have any of the exotic DVD protection schemes (just CSS and Region codes on mine) so I can't comment on its ability to deal with those.

Yes it is freeware. If you would like to buy the full edition of it then thats your prerogative.
Correct me if I am wrong! AnyDvD dose have a lifetime subscription plan for both HD version and regular...
So if you were not going to be cheap about it you could just purchase AnyDvD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/purchase.html) LT for 64.00 EUR. And you would have updates when available w/o worrying.

Yes, there is still the option of purchasing a lifetime license. The options are a 1 yr, 2, yr, 3 yr, 4 yr, or lifetime license.

for dvds I use MTR.Cracks CSS +ARccOS just fine, but older macs this will be excrutiatingly slow as the drive buffer is 2MB.Same with mac mini.
Ubunut has 9-5 still in the universe repos and tools like ogmrip and the like are available. similar to 9-5, dvd2one works on OSX and does same job.
Mencoder can dump if it isn't ARccOS, Linux has a sortcoming with these newer discs, and not too many have ventured to make software capable of reading them. MTR is one such software.
I have Anon Rex and Medium, but I don't think Medium is ARccOS. A-rex IS.
