hey y'all.

real easy question: the doom9 guide for Nandub
is quite hard to understand when explaining what,
if anything, goes in the "Collect In:" field in
the "Bitrate Curve" tab in the SBC setup. Is it
a stats file generated in the 2nd pass (for use
in analysis, etc) or is it the stats file for the
first pass (in which case the next field, "Encode
Using:" should be identical, right?)???

thanks!! :)

PS - do folx generally tick the scene change box? why
or why not?

the latter is correct.....it is a stats file generated by the first pass for use in the second pass.

i dont tick the scene change box. no reason.

ok, great - thank you.
but, why then, if i fill in this field, does
Nandub still ask for a stats file name when
you press F8/shift-F8 to do the encode??
will one override the other???

what you enter after pressing F8 or Shift+F8 will be the stats file generated. why dont you just save them to the same directory as the same name. if it was going to overwrite it would say that, wouldnt it?

i dont know why it does this sorry. i didnt really notice.
maybe a more experienced user can help there.

hmmm, thanks. when i say 'override' i mean
one will be (necessarily) ignored, as opposed
to 'overwrite'.

after trying it out, the value in "collect in"
not only seems to be overridden/ignored, it appears
to get cleared out, thus i assume no one really
uses it (how would you???)
