View Full Version : Ultraspeeded up Audio

Just tried the AVI2SVCD feature. The original divx was 24 fps. AVI2SVCD changed framerate to 23.976 for video and audio. Video looks fine but audio is ultraspeeded up and way out of sync(on pc and standalone player). Can anyone tell me why this would happen and what can be done about it? Thanks

You will most likely have to convert the audio as well to 23.976 fps speed. Read this post. It deals with converting from Pal to NTSC, but the idea of strechting the audio applies here, although in this case you need to slow it down.

Just figure that it's 24/23.976. You will need to play a little with the settings to get it right.

You could also try frame converting in Vdub to 24 and then Muxing. That might be easier. In either case the basic info is in that post.

Good Luck

But Besweet makes the conversion to 23.976 during the avi2svcd processing. But apparently it's not working right?

I have some divx avi files that are encoded at 23.976 fps video
and 44100hz audio. It seems like the audio encoding in AVI2SVCD
isn't detecting that the source audio is already 44100 and is
either trying to convert it again (assumes 48000 so converts to
44100) or it flags the 44100hz audio as 48000. Either way it
plays wrong. Last night I tested this on a 1:47:41 long
avi file. The .mp2 file generated during AVI2SVCD conversion
was flagged as 48000 (I didn't click "convert 48000 to 441000"
because source was already 44100. I played the .mp2 file in
winamp and it showed the length as being about and hour and
31 minutes long. So, I took the .avi file and ran it through
virtualdub and converted the audio to 48000 hz. Then I re-ran
AVI2SVCD (this time with convert 48000->44100 turned ON) and the
resulting .mp2 file played as 44100 in winamp and was the correct
length. I need to do a little more debugging to see if it's
besweet not detecting the input rate correctly or what.

Just wanted to let you know what I've found so you could check
that possibility out. I haven't had much luck with .avi sources
that are already at 44100hz audio.

Well I just tried the same thing with BeSweet 1.0 and got same result. Audio is superspeed. The 92 minute soundtrack becomes a 34 minute mp2 file.
