Which is actually the best quality x264 codec available, regardless of the pc consumption?

FFDshow (FFmpeg-MT)
Cyberlink
CoreAVC (I think this is the best but just regarding to quality/consumption)
Mainconcept

Any other?..

By the way, does Cyberlink always update a new revision of their codec on each new powerdvd versión? I mean, theres much difference between its h.264 codecs on PDVD7, PDVD8, PDVD9?

You ask about quality, yet seem to be asking about decoders. They are all the same. Unlike MPEG-2, where different decoders could use different IDCT algorithms (I think that's what it was...), all H.264 decoders produce identical output (the stream as a whole may be a little different thanks to structure or whatever, but compare decoded frames individually, and you'll see they're identical).

LOL snap!

Anyway, x264 is an encoder and there is only one x264. As for AVC decoders, they are all the same in terms of quality, excepting bugs and unimplemented features (e.g. predictive lossless). The usual problem is to do with levels conversion

Closed for egregious rule 12 violation.
