View Full Version : Removing DRM from protected WMA files

I have some protected .wma files which a non-technically inclined friend has asked me to help them with.

I was easily able to do this myself a while (couple of years?) ago, using FairUse4WM.

According to everything I've read (and remember), this should work.. as the machine has WMP 9 and indivbox.key version 10.0.0.3646.

I was able to get the key just fine, and convert a couple of files. Then *something* (unknown exactly what caused this) happened.. now, I get an error:
"UNABLE TO DECRYPT: Windows Error 80030020 while opening V9 license file.."

If I go back to the "recover keys" button, I now get an error:
Unable to recover private key
Windows Error 80030020 while opening V9 license file.

Any help appreciated! I'd rather not have to "analog hole" this..

FairUse4WM requires that you have a "valid licence". Without it you wont be able to decrypt the protected file.

I do have a valid license (ie. the songs will play).

Odd.. it works now.
Not sure what I did to make it work, but it does.

Hi,

Is it possible to get a copy of FairUse4WM application.
The version I got from the web does not seem to work for me.
I'm using Window Media Player 9.0.

Thank you in advanced.
