View Full Version : DVD Decrypter and structural protection

Is there a way to use some other program in conjunction with DVD Decrypter to overcome structural copy protection.

I recently tried to backup a very recent dvd , but DVD Decrypter was hanging at one point on loading the files. Maybe this is caused by the structural thing.

How does it work? The disc still plays, though, on DVD player!

What's going on?

Hi!

If (freeware, but VERRRY old) DVD Decrypter cannot properly process a DVD, there's nothing to be gained by using it in conjunction with any other program.

Instead, you should simply use a different decrypting/"ripping" program, such as (freeware) "DVDFab HD Decrypter" ("AnyDVD", mentioned by "RunningSkittle" is a payware program - and also does not require or benefit from using DVD Decrypter in conjunction with it for copying DVDs)...

Except for the fact that you can use DVD Decrypter's fantastic IFO mode.

@Adub

The O.P. has indicated the desire to simply "backup a very recent dvd" - which doesn't require the use of DVD Decrypter's "IFO mode"...

There's illegal content on the disc that's put there specifically to confuse ripping software.

The ripping software has to process the entire disc, unlike the DVD player, which never sees this illegal content since it only follows valid links either from the commands on the DVD or via the remote control.

Okay, I understand that.

I was more responding to this:

I suppose I took the sentence a little out of context.

What does DVD Decrypter's IFO mode still have to offer that DVDFab HD Decrypter can't do?
