Or is Yadif the only realtime deinterlacer that can do pretty good diagonals in most cases?

GPU-based deinterlacing is better than yadif. Well, at least PureVideo (Nvidia)... I've never seen ATI's deinterlacing in action.

********, you're right.... but how do I utilize PureVideo in AviSynth?

One way: use neuron2's NV source filters.

will it work with dvsd ntsc footage?

edit: aww, i can't donate $15. well at least not at the moment. i will stick with yadif for now.

will it work with dvsd ntsc footage? No. MPEG2, AVC, or VC1.

ahh i see, so they are basically ur DGAVCDec/DGMPGDec tools that uses the GPU as the decoder and frameserver instead of the CPU? hence faster processing?
