hi
i have to say i'm an absolute beginner.... i use autogk already to convert recording from my dreambox from *.ts to *.avi (xvid). with sd recordings this works very smart.
now i've got my new dm8000 and i'm able to record in hd. to cut the recording i use h264ts_cutter, this is working so far.
now i've a hd ts.file which i like to convert to xvid.
if i open autogk and add the input file, everything is ok - it also shows me the two audio tracks. i add the job and press start and get an error "no video sequence header found".
am i doing something wrong? how can i get around this error?
many thanks for your help.

AutoGK does not support AVC video from transport streams.
You can do the process manually using DGAVCDec or you can find a GUI-based encoder app that supports AVC input from transport. I always do things manually so I can't advise you about the latter. Have a look at the MPEG4 Encoder GUIs forum.
MeGUI can do what you ask. They have recently added support for .ts files, so you shouldn't have any problems. The most that you would have to do manually is to index the stream, but you may not even have to do even that.

thanks for your help, i will check it out....
however, i'm wondering. i was sure autogk could do it, especially sind the program description says:
Program features support of:
- DVD/VOBs(unencrypted from hdd), MPEG2, MPEG1, transport streams (including multi-program ones) and AVI/DV input sources
- XviD or DivX(5/6) output formats
- AC3, DTS, PCM, MPA input audio tracks
- AC3, DTS, MPA, CBR/VBR MP3 output audio tracks
- two audio tracks in AVI
- external (vobsub) or internal (burnt-in) subtitles (with support of forced subs)
- HDTV input/output resolutions(upto 1920x***) and frame rates (50/60fps)
- automatic crop and resize based on compressibility of the source to achieve best results
- automatic detection of input source: PAL, NTSC, FILM, HYBRID
- automatic deinterlacer and IVTC
- automatic split into CD-sized chunks for main video and external subs
it's so easy to convert sd-material, it woudl be really nice to do the same with hd-material.
the solution i'm looking for has to handle multiple audio-tracks since all my movies are in english and german....
thanks again.

Hi,
From using Autogk in the tutorial:
"TS, TP, TRP, M2T files are expected to be transport streams with MPEG2 video inside. If it has multiple video streams then you'll be asked to confirm which stream AutoGK will be working with."

MeGUI can handle multiple audio tracks easily. Here's an image I posted in the past to show another user how to mux multiple tracks; if you want to encode the audio (e.g., AC3 to MP3) before muxing, the same type of user interface applies to the encoder window.
