So, if i rip a movie with anydvd, compress it with ripbot to bluray 8gb and burn it with nero (DVDROM-UDF) onto a dual layer dvd, the bdp-s550 "wil" recognize the disk as a bluray movie.

Now, i still rip a movie with anydvd, but i burn it onto a bluray disk with nero (BLURAY-UDF), the bdp-s550 now "wont" recognize the disk.

So, what am i missing? Is it a problem with nero's bluray-udf system? Should i be using something other than nero?

Cheers

Try using (freeware) "IMGBurn" to burn...

i found the problem, you have to set UDF to version 2.5

@udmyou have to set UDF to version 2.5Yes - and "IMGBurn" would have done that automatically for you ;>}

i found the problem, you have to set UDF to version 2.5

Which makes me wonder how was it possible to work first time.... since all BD players expect UDF2.50+ for BD data.

It is possible that your files were either in smaller chunks and there was no problem using iso/joliet for DVD. I will now do a test to prove if I'm wrong.

I just burned a dvdrw with
* iso/joliet - doesn't work
* iso+udf 1.5 - works in pc only, ps3 recognizes as avchd but doesn't play it
* ufd 1.5 - same as above...

DVD-R should be much better than DVD-RW. And don't change the book-type to DVD-ROM - just leave it to DVD-R.
