Sorry if this isn't necessarily the right section for my query. It's been a while since I've been in these parts.
Ok, my problem is this. Attempting a backup of a DVD concert show to Xvid mpeg4 via good old Vdubmod the resulting avi comes out shortened by several minutes and with the sound completely out of whack.
My source files were four linked vobs that I spliced with vobjoiner. I demuxed before-hand and did dual encodes: once straight out of vdubmod as well as one with avisynth. No filters or resizing. One paradox caught my eye. Vdubmod shows the source frame rate as 29.97 whereas ffdshow in mplayer classic indicates it to be a speed that 'varies' in the 25fps zone. However the new avi encode reports a steady 29.97. Could this be a problem of an incorrect/corrupted header? If so, what to do?
Two other, if lesser problems, are the aspect ratio has shifted becoming horizontally squeezed (mpegmodifier solution I hope) and the interlace lines are back and I can't seem to get rid of them with either ffdshow or vlc.
Any help? Thanks in advance
