BD Rebuilder tests :
In the past , I have got some problems with BD-R made discs read with PS3 and origin of CERTIFICATE folder... Conclusion were :
-With a BD25 output CERTIFICATE folder must be the original one, otherwise, PS3 stay indefinitely paralysed on a noname title !
-With BD9 or BD5 (AVCHD), it seems that it works if CERTIFICATE folder is generated by my burning software (Toast Pro 10 on Macintosh) in BDMV authoring mode...

Today, trying to use less expansive Mediarange new 2-4x medias, I find an other mystery... I have built a BD-RB BD25 from GATTACA original disc and i have got following results (with original CERTIFICATE folder) :
-If I burn structure on a Fujifilm BD-RE 25 : all runs fine with PS3...
-If I burn structure on a Verbatim BD-R 25 2x : all runs fine with PS3...
-if I burn structure on a MediaRange BD-R 25 2x-4x : disc availability is very long and I get the "title 0 syndrome" with PS3

However, data burning and verify are as good with Mediarange as with Verbatim medias...

How can it be possible that the same structure give different results with BD type manufacturer ?
Which link with CERTIFICATE folder ?

I have not succeded to find accurate datas on how CERTIFICATE folder is built and used...

Great thanks for your help...

It's the same content burned on each BDR?

If so it sounds to me like your PS3 has problems reading the mediarange while your PC drive has no problems. Laser strength could be to blame for this.

Yes, naturally, same files source... I had never noticed any particular difficulty with my PS3 disc reader for all types of media normally accepted... But... Perhaps before it was ill...

A problem witness is certainly that it spent 2 or 3 minutes before the film icon appear on PS3 desktop with Mediarange burning...

I plan 2 actions :
-Report problems to technical Mediarange headquarter for Europe to whom I had asked to confirm my technical computer configuration would be OK for these new reference of Mediarange BD-R 25 before buying a test sample...
-Test and compare Verbatim and Mediarange burnings with DVDInfoPro to try to shine a light on differences...

I'll inform the thread if any certitude appears...

Ouch ! Does it means my PS3 is a little ill ?

Could be, have you tested the discs on an other ps3?

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that the PS3 is the problem. It could just be a bad lot/spindle of media.

It is THE good idea ! My tests give Mediarange discs well constructed and
good rebuilded by BD_RB with an OTHER PS3...

After a 15 s cleanup of the lens of my PS3 : all discs run fine with my PS3 !!!

I have been mystified by coïncidence of :
-dirty lense of my PS3
-Tests of new Mediarange medias
-Tests of betas from BD-Rebuilder with no knolewdge of some details of BD structure (CERTIFICATE folder by example)

To finish : Like Droopy, I am happy now with many backups of my GATTACA BD...
