couldnt find any threads relating to this.

i normally encode with 2 passes, however i do first pass (F8) overnight and then set up to use the statistics file in my 2nd pass (F7). i check generate no avi output in sbc options so that just a stats file is made in the first pass, then i uncheck it in the second pass.

i want to do 2 passes straight in one go (i.e SHIFT+F8). if i check no avi output does it apply to both passes in this case or should i leave it unchecked?

if i leave it unchecked does it create 2 avi's?
what i mean is would you get one avi from the first pass, and one from the second pass, or will it still create a stats file from the first to be used in the 2nd pass? hope this aint too confusing

what will nandub do in this case?

im attempting to create a 2cd backup, but i wont have enuf room on my hd for 2 avi's of 1400Mb so i dont want to start the thing and have problems half way through.

hope someone can help me
thanks

if you use f8 or shift-f8 these settings should be ingored in the first place... and you seem to be in dire need of a larger harddisk ;)

cool thanks for the info.

correct on all counts...lol...in desperate need of a new hd, which is only a matter of weeks away. yay!! just gotta make the final decisions on the other hardware.

any processor/motherboard/video card 'recommendations' ideal for making DivX etc?

cheers
