Everytime I install DVD2SVCD 1.0.6 b1 my dvd rom drive will no longer read dvds. I have to uninstall DVD2SVCD 1.0.6 b1 and the drive itself then reboot. After that my dvd-rom drive will once again read dvd's not sure on brand of dvd-rom some generic 16x. Anyone else having any problems like this?

Could it be some type of software conflict? Not 100% sure since I have no clue what you have installed, but that would be my first guess.

The only dvd type software I have installed is WinDVD other than that nothing is installed as far as dvd software is concerned.

Well I really didnt state it had 2 be "dvd software" that was conflicting can be other software also. Hey that was just a guess if someone has had this problem maybe they can direct you in another way. What operation system and type of computer do you run with?
Maybe you could Uninstall WinDVD and try Powerdvd or something else
Just thought of that....
But I have in my own personal experience seen software that was not even related 2 the new software I introduced cause conflicts so it wont hurt nothing for you 2 investigate this option.

running a p4 1.6ghz with 256 mb ram and windows xp home edition. How would I go about investigating a software conflict? I haven't really seen anything like this before so I'm not sure where to start.
