Alright. So I decrypt the movie only the scenes that pertain to the movie. Redo the ifo's using ifo edit. Reassign the vts sectors. then burn to dvd-r using Nero. Now the final output plays just fine on my PC's. But on my settop I get a disc dirty error, Sony dvp-ns300. Now i can author a dvd using mydvd with no problem. It plays fine on the settop. Anyone got any solutions? Seriously 3 coasters later I'm baffled. Thanks in advance

I have the same problem with my Sony. Try to put the Video_TS.VOB and VTS_XX_0.VOB files (xx= number of VOB where the main move is) in your dvd-r, and your Sony would recognize the dvd-r.
Hope this help.

Try to make sure that everything is in all caps and create 2 folders, one called AUDIO_TS (this one will be empty) and on called VIDEO_TS (this one contains all of your movie files). If that still fails then try to get Prassi Primo DVD or RecordNow Max (they are both based on the same burning engine and work pretty much the same) I have had mucho success with those 2 and no success with Nero. You can pickup RecordNow Max for $50, you can download a 30 day demo here:

I'll second the vote for using Prassi to burn. I tried a DVD-RW with Nero - played fine on the PC, but the settop player wouldn't touch it.

Burned the same image with Prassi and it worked like a charm in both players. I've used it ever since with 0 problems.

Me too. I have yet to have had a single DVD-R or DVD-RW work on my Apex standalone when burned with Nero (although they read fine on my PC). I burn with Prassi or SpruceUp and it works on both -- every time so far. There is something different in the way Nero formats or writes...

And Uleads DVD Moviefactory?

Just burned 3 episodes a TV program I'd captured. Plays fine on my Scan SC2000 and on PC, plays but odd audio dropout on Pioneer DV340 and not at all on a Wharfedale 750. All three are supposed to play DVDRs?

Is this a problem with DVD Moviefactory?
