Hey, I'm using BeSweetGUI to try and do some AC3 extraction. Is there any sort of comprehensive guide for AZID/BeSweet? What I'm trying to do is extract specific channels from an AC3 file and mix them into a .wav, but not all the tracks. Is there any way for me to pick and choose in AZID? It looks like there is a way from looking at the options, but I'm a rookie here, thanks.

First of all, what do you mean by all the "tracks"? Multiple languages, or channels within the ac3 file?
In any case, I think you can find what you're looking for in Doom9's audio guides. http://www.doom9.org/audio-guides.htm

Hey you're right, I should have specified that. By "tracks" or channels I guess, I mean the different signals for front left, front right, center, LFE, rear left, etc. I checked the audio guides (the guides are boss for the most part) but didn't find what I was looking for.

Use the BeSweet GUI and look at the excellent tooltips that DD built in. It's not a guide but it does explain the different settings.

Why would you want to extract different channels form the AC3 (unless you're trying to make MC-MPEG)? The best thing to do is to downmix if you only need a few channels to preserve the surround sound.
In any case, Besweet does have an AC3 > 6 mono WAV converter that will seperate the channels of the AC3 into their own mono WAV, but what is your goal?

Yeah, the tips are helpful, but I'm probably just stupid concerning some of the settings. Yes, I can get 6 wavs from using BeSweet, but that is HELL to try and edit in any sound editor. I'll explain exactly what it is I want to do and you can maybe give me suggestions. I'd prefer actual suggestions to outright criticism, but whatever, free speech is good. Okay, I have a 4.1 setup so I really have no need for the extra center channel and LFE channel. I want to combine the 2 then mix them into the front sound and rear sound. I've found out through the audio tools how to get an AVI to play 2 MP3 channels (one for front and one for rear) using Semi's DirectSound 3D filter. I tested it and it worked. I would use AC3 straight up since it's easier, but I tried for the LIFE of me to get it working in surround and it never happened. I installed every codec the way suggested, used 3.0.57 and up versions of Intervideo's iviaudio.ax. It never worked, I only got stereo or nothing at all. Besides, this way I can save a little more space which is always good. What I want to do is basically make two wav files that I can compress later with my mp3 encoder that have these properties:
1. (front sound) front left, front right + LFE & center channel mixed in
2. (rear sound) rear left, rear right + LFE & center channel mixed in
Also, if both of these could be normalized in the process that would be great. While I can easily do this stuff in any .wav editor it takes FOREVER due to the gargantuan size of the raw wav rips. The more of this process I can automate through BeSweet or AZID, the better. I've made some progress, but I'm not there yet. If you have any thoughts on this let me know, thanks for the feedback.

Azid will allow you to create a downmix matrix of your own, including nr. of channels and in DD GUI you can store the settings ... read Azid docs...

I have actually, I'm just a little bit dense when it comes to this. I'll take a look at it again though.

never mind, I got HeadAC3e and it solved all my audio issues.
