I tried to rip American Pie 2 region 1 with the internal routines and DVD2SVCD thought about it for a sec, wrote the project and other normal files and made a 0 byte Vob file. Then continued as if the rip had finished. I tried several times and got the same results.
I then used SmartRipper and piped it through the internal routines, but the resulting SVCD's are way out of sync.
I am starting again using Vstrip this time and will see what happens.
Vstrip did get all the Vob files correctly.

While I still have the disk do you want me to make another attempt at ripping with internal routines and if it fails, as I suspect it will, do you want me to send you anything to see what went wrong?

You can send me the DVD ;)

Take a look at the chapters, see if there's anything funny in there. Only other thing you can do is mail me the ifo file.

Mark,

Exactly the SAME thing happened to me on my American Pie 2 region 1 NTSC conversion. I chose internal routines and hit "GO". DVD2SVCD hesitated for about 3 seconds and then just skipped over or refused to do the rip ! - I used Vstrip and it worked just fine - perfect RIP and a nice IN SYNC conversion.
I do not believe it is YOUR individual disc since mine did the same thing. Something slightly out of whack in the IFO file or first vob ??? - I have no idea ? Whatever it was fooled internal routines but not Vstrip. I never tried Smartripper on this movie ..
