I wanted to see if anyone has prior experience with the NTSC (region 1) version of this movie.

It's a 2:3 pulldown, so I do a telecide(order=1,guide=1).Decimate() string in my avs file.

At 5 min 4 secs into the movie (showing Jason Voorhees underwater) it freezes for a few seconds (showing the top of the head, then catches up right after the movie scrolls down pass the head).

If no one knows what I'm talking about, I'll post a sample.

I do remember something about this... if I remember correctly, there are areas of the film where the gop's are open.

Is this possible? How would I check this, would that info appear in a d2v hash? And how could I fix it?

Do I have to transcode at 29.970fps, to keep smoothness in the entire movie?

Post an unprocessed fragment of the VOB including the problem area.

Solved it.

Bad first GOP, cut the first group of pictures from the movie, and plays fine.
