View Full Version : How to convert decrypted folder to a common form

When I have used DVD Decrypter to copy a dvd, it is saved in a folder called video_ts, which consists of several ifo, bop and vob files. None of these are recognized by any of the dozen file converters I have tried; I get a message saying file does not exist, or file not recognized when I drag it in. How can I convert the folder to a format that will play in W Media Player or that can be downloaded to a media device?

The folder its self is not the content. The Movie is contained inside of the Vob files. If your looking to convert the main movie to a format that is readily understandable by standalone players you will need any one of the converters listed under the Video Encoding section of the forum to convert them...

Even though Windows Media Player is a loooooong way from being good, I believe they still claim that it can play DVDs!!! Just load VIDEO_TS.IFO into WMP and it should play. No converter necessary.

Better still use either VLC (free and very good), PowerDVD, Nero Showtime or Media Player Classic (free).

If you wish to play on "the very little screen", that is another matter. You will need re-encoding. There are lots of encoders out there. Follow the link in post 2 and read the stickies.
