TempGaussMC for Hybrid?

Hi,

I have a clip that's 90% interlaced and the rest isn't. I was thinking of using TempGaussMC for the interlaced parts and simple frame doubling for the non-interlaced parts.

Is it possible to use the denoising/sharpening functions of TempGaussMC on the non-interlaced parts without invoking the bobbing function?

If you know the non interlaced parts then the easiest would be to use the ApplyRange plugin. Otherwise its a bit tricky.

you could hack it into NTSCtools, but i'm not sure if that script actually works on any machines other than mine...

otherwise a simple(ish) scriptclip call should be able to tell between interlaced and non-interlaced frames, and apply tempgaussMC on one and not the other.

Have you tried using it on everything, including the progressive sections?

It's not ideal, but it's not nearly as bad as you might think. You get something very close to what you want (IME, YMMV!).

I have tested filtering the whole clip and the progressive parts do look ok.

I do know what the parts that are non-interlaced are, so I've also tried doing a Trim and ChangeFPS on the progressive parts, and then finally appending the different parts together.

But the parts that didn't go through TempGaussMC are a bit noisy, so I was wondering if it would be possible to extract out the denoising functionality of TempGaussMC to perform a denoise without bobbing.

I might just stick with doing a TempGaussMC on the whole clip.
