View Full Version : What is causing this audio sync problem?

I demuxed a 29.970fps vob and processed it in VirtualDubMod, under frame rate I have “No Change” enabled ( 29.970fps). After the video is done it is output as a 29.970fps .avi I then use MeGui to encode it to X264 using RAWAVC. After the encode is done I mux the audio back in using TsMuxer again no change to fps. When I play it the video seems to play back to fast and the audio just gets further and further out of sync.
What might I be doing wrong?

Why use VDUB to process it in the first place. Just use MeGUI and do a direct encode. VOB (mpg2) to RAWAVC. Much faster I'd imagine.

To denoise, sharpen and resize prior to encoding.
I found can encode the 29.970fps to 24p and with some tinkering with delays get the audio to sync but 29.970 should sync up some what. However since 29.970 is its original fps yet does not and I sure would like to figure out why.
It is like a boat load of frames are being omitted from the encode.

Are you aware of the fact that denoising, sharpening and resize can be done using Avisynth and it's higher quality plugins/algorithms which can then be fed directly to MeGUI. It should help with audio sync as well. Just something to think about.
