it would be nice if it's possible to select "avs filter selection" based on bitrate (similar to the selection of matrix based on bitrate).

like if I have a really low bitrate DVD, I can use "smoothers" to help in the compression. If I have a high bitrate DVD, there would be no need for the "smoother".

Is it that hard to do by hand? I mean, you said it yourself. Just play the DVD, check it's bitrate, and set the filter accordingly. Doesn't sound so hard. Or time consuming for that matter.

along the same reasoning that you used, is manual matrix selection hard to do by hand? Why was that feature in there if it's not that hard to do?
