Well, I was wondering if it is possible to convert DVD sup to BD sup files. I use MaestroSBT to make very nice fansub DVDs. I would like to be able to use the new HD video out there to compile AVCHDs with the same high quality subs I make with MaestroSBT.
Is there a way to convert DVD sup files to BD sup files?

This doesn't sound like a good plan to me. 4-color lowres DVD captions scaled up to HD will never look as good as captions produced for BD. IMHO it would make more sense to create highres, 256-color subtitles for BD and then downscale them to VobSub format if needed.
Besides, muxing BD-SUPs is currently obviously a little dodgy while SUB/IDX is a format with pretty good tool support.

Thanks for taking the time to reply!
I completely understand what your saying, and I essentially agree with you. My problem is that I am not aware of how to generate a BD stream in the first place, with all the features that I want.
My workflow is using Aegisub or Substation Alpha to generate a script with good typesetting. I can use any font I want, I can position everything I want, and have timing collisions all over the place with no problem.
What I mean is I can have a sub for dialogue, a top left sub for a song, sub under the top left sub for karaoke, and a sub for a sign in the middle of the screen all at the same time with the colors, font, and positioning that I want, limited to DVD capabilites of course.
SRT just can't do that kind of thing.
I then finalize in Substation Alpha and use MaestroSBT to create bitmaps.
Anyway, I have a 46" TV and the subs upscale okay, they aren't ugly, and do a great job serving their purpose.
Until there is a MasestroSBT type tool for bitmap generation and a muxman type tool for muxing, a "Sup2BDSup" would be awesome.
I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who have spent a lot of time formatting, typesetting, etc. a SUP (dvd) who might like the opportunity to port them over.
Anyway, I'm looking out for ways to make BD-Sups from scratch in a way similar to my current workflow. My second hope is that Divx7 will get out of beta with native mkv support and include support for SUB/IDX within the container.
My ongoing project is subbing an entire anime series with simple "insert disc" set top player compatibility.
Thanks for your time!
