First off, if this was answered I appologize!
Figured out DVD2SVCD nice! Output on my TV Great!
HATE the CCE logo!
Reading the FAQ I apparently need to purchase the CCE product
Can DVD2SVCD work with the CCE Lite? for $250?
or
must I purchase the CCE SP package?
Can't part with $3,995 for home use, $250 OK I would be willing to pay that.
Thanks
Ken

To work with DVD2SVCD you need CCE 2.50 SP.
This is no longer for sale.
In other words you cannot buy it.
But there are ways to get it.
If you look around you will find hints on where to get it.
I would suggest using the search function.
There might be links on a certain programs homepage that happens to have a forum that you happen to have posted in.

Hello pacohaas,
I asked the guy to email me, nothing more. Don't read too much into my post.
Cheers

Didn't mean to start a fire.....
I found a lot more info on the subject, just had to read more.
For those who don't want to do that...try
DVDx, good guide and software on Doom9, it's free and it worked for me, little slower
but was fine and not hard for a newbie.
Thanks to all.

Don't worry about it. This is nothing you should see the real fires.
There was a mess not to long ago with a Mod and a not so nice person. That was fun to watch, although probably not for the mod.

Is it so bad just to say to someone: "there's a crack, go search for it, but whatever you do, don't ask for it here". I'm referring to karabelas' reply, fletch's does seem a little dodgy.

it might be ok, it might not be ok. most of the people here don't need someone to tell them, "hey, something is out there on the internet" and "hey, there's search engines out there to find that something" I think the point of rule 6 and the point of the forum rules in general is to keep everything legal. Since we're already skating on thin ice with the whole DVD backup idea, I think it's best not to "test the waters". Sure there's probably a line, but as per the confusion in this very thread, it's a fuzzy line. I think it's best for everyone to just steer clear of the line altogether, don't try to push the envelope here, it's definately not the place for it.

...I should have said, "one of the points of the forum rules..."
at any rate, to answer the thread subject, there's been some hinting that a future(possibly near future) version of DVD2SVCD will support both CCE 2.50 and the 2.6x branch. So I'd say hold out for a little bit and see where things go.

People seem to forget there is this little PM button next to each post. If there is even the slightest question that the answer is against the rules people should use it. What is said in private is just that private and remains that way. You can give links, say whatever you like without tempting fate.
If someone has a problem with my cryptic answer I will send them a private mail that is direct and to the point.
When in doubt PM.
