Custom DVD menus

I'm using movie clips to make up a DVD. When the menu comes up it lists the movie clips as if they were chapters, which is perfect. The problem is that when you choose one it skips to the next clip after playing. What I want it to do it to stop and go back to the menu.

I'm using Nero 7 Ultra edition. I've scoured the menus section and the options sections. I've tried everything I can think of. For right now I'm just inserting a couple of seconds of black video in between clips so I have time to hit the "menu" button on the remote to take me back to the disc menu.

Does anyone know how to make the movie stop and go back to the menu after each clip? Any information is greatly appreciated.

I haven't used Nero 7 in a couple of years, but I know that in Nero 9, when you create a custom Dvd in Nerovision, you have the option to continue to the next clip or jump back to the menu after each clip. I would suggest downloading the trial version of Nero 9 and using it to recreate your Dvd, your already using Nero so that seems like a logical step to me, also Nero's help files have 3 sections on editing menus.

Hi!

If instead of CHAPTERS, you make each clip a TITLE, you should be able to structure things so that your DVD returns to the menu after each segment...

The clips that I'm adding show up as separate titles, but they still play as chapters. I guess I'll have to update my software and see what happens.

try this and see if it helps.
it need the segment to have at least ifos.

or if you want
open the created dvd in pgcedit and see the last cell that plays and add a post command that calls the menu. :)
or a cell command for the last cell to call the menu.

I think I've seen the cell commands in between the clips in Nero. It's where you can add effects like fading out or whatever, I just couldn't find a call menu command. I'll have to look at this.

pgcedit worked great for this. It took a bit of finaggling to be able to edit the files but it worked.

Now if I could only figure out how to make multi-level menus. :)

Guess I'll be doing some reading.
