View Full Version : Convert h.264 to MPEG2 for DVD output

I've assembled a compilation of the DTS and some THX trailers that I want to play back on my HT. Some of these are 24 fps and the first 2 burns I've done leave me with a video that will skip every second.
How can I do a quick pull down to correct the choppiness?

Appreciate the tool however it looks as though it only supports m2v output??
Could I achieve a conversion by using H264info and just plug 30 as the output framerate?

You said MPEG2 for DVD output. So after you make your M2V and before you author with it, you use DGPulldown.
Why are you wanting to pulldown the H264 if you are transcoding to MPEG2?

I'm kinda new to this but here it goes:
These trailers are all 24.00 fps and I believe that Convertxtodvd somehow makes them 30 fps when it burns to a dvd as NTSC. When I play the burned dvd on my PS3, it will skip every second and from what I can tell, it's because of the conversion from 24 to 30 fps, almost like it is pausing on the 24th - 30th frame. Not sure if I described this correctly or not, bear with me.

Post a link to an unprocessed source sample of about 50Mbytes in size. Also post a link to your encode of the same section that plays with the skipping.
I strongly suggest avoiding ConvertXtoDVD and doing this manually with available freeware.
