Hey boys & girls,

I would like to present the new Zones Form Edition that will be included into MeGUI.

But first, I would like to have some feedbacks about that. So grab the build from here (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=MeGUI/&file=MeGUI_20090312.zip) and play with it...

To be more precise:

Zones work only w/ x264 & xvid encoders for the moment.
You can specify some extra settings (especially Key Frame beginning, Cartoon Mode, Gresycale Encoding, ChromaOptimiser), depending on compressor choosed.
qpfile can be created & saved automatically as soon as you click on the OK button (saved in the same input folder).
to use qpfile, you have to specify it in the x264 Config Panel afterward. This is not automatic...
Zones can be setted via video Preview.
That's all for the moment.

If you have some issues, please don't forget to post your logfile.

:thanks:

Is the above referenced Zones form/tool (http://uppix.net/1/e/4/0561dbeebbb006639a2b1cd2755de.html) included in quoted build linked (http://kurtnoise.free.fr/index.php?dir=MeGUI/&file=MeGUI_20090312.zip)? If so, how is the Zones form/tool accessed?

"Edit Zones" still seems disabled, and I see no other options listed under "Tools".

Unless I am a complete imbecile, which is certainly possible.

you have to load an avs script first in the video panel...and the button will be enabled then.

Thank you for your reply.

I did so. "Edit Zones" was still disabled.

I dropped the updated executable into a current (read: older, already in use) installation directory of MeGUI. Should it be "installed" into a fresh directory? Perhaps that is the issue?

which compressor did you choose ? did you have selected a preset ?

Being able to save the zones to a file and import would be very welcome. The current MeGUI is so slow to setup and use as the zones have to be entered every time. For repeated encodings, especially when testing it can be a real nuisance having to re-enter the zones when a simple import would speed it up considerably.

Can that be implemented?

hmmm...well, yes that can be implemented. There is already chapters file loading in the pipe...So, why not. :)
