Can I make a BD playable on stand alone player using 1920x1080/60p H264 source?
Here are links to some 1080/60p samples:

You'll have to convert it to either 720p60 or 1080i30.

Thanks um3k. Any other alternatives that will retain the 1920x1080/60p format?

yes (http://www.google.nl/search?hl=nl&as_qdr=all&q=video+container+site%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fforum.doom9.org&meta=)
But not on BD.

Wouldn't 1080i60 be a better choice?
Nevermind: guess the number following i/p is "frames" per second, even when interlaced video is being referenced; plus 1080i @ 30 fields per second (as I assumed you meant) isn't a Blu-ray standard. Guess it helps to research before posting. :-)

Got the Xacti HD2000 because it records at 1920x1080/60p, but looks like I'm stuck now because of some stupid decisions made by Sony....

Greetings G_M_C, thank you for the reply.
Are you suggesting AVCHD will accommodate the 1920x1080/60p MP4 AVC (H264) video recorded using my Sanyo VPC HD2000 camcorder? Would appreciate you could provide more info as this stuff is new to me.

PS3 outputs 24p video in form of native 24p if the TV can accept it, or it would output the 24p with 30p instead. 30p is not in the specification of Bluray. I think it may change with growth of time when the Bluray developers would meet and revise to add the better format. It might be a conspiracy that forces consumer to buy 24p TV which is said to be a better choice for 24p movies and such TVs actually upgrade the video from 24p to 48p or even up to 72p.
