Just a question.

I OWN a copy of A DVD The Crow. I was wantng to backup and convert to Divx.

Now the backup of Vobs are all fine.

No Sync probs here.

Divx 4.12 Conversion - no probs here

Audio Stream - Uncompressed no probs

Compressed Audio - no Probs

Now the merging of the AVI to the Compressed Audio Stream (MP3).

Out of Sync and worsens as movie progresses.

Can anyone recommend the best tool or toll kit for fixing the sync between the two?

what kind of mp3 is it? cbr, abr, vbr....mp3pro?
what program and techniques are you using to mux?
are you using the delay value given on the ac3 track at all?

I am using the Radium Sound Codec. This is the recommended sound codex for converting the AC3 stream to Stereo.

I have had no problems with other DVD's going out of sync like this.

I'll have a look at other tools that may do the trick.

compare the langth of audio and the length of video... in vdub check 'change framerate so that audio/video durations match'. check for delayed audio (extract audio with dvd2avi and check filename). if there is delay, enter the value when muxing with vdub (nandub). maybe the lenght is different AND there's delay. try to process audio with besweet or headac3 (azid&lame) and then mux with nandub.. pretty confusing but i think you'll get the picture..
