DVD ripped as 704x480... what's going on?

I ripped a DVD using my usual method (DVD Decrypter in IFO mode), and when I load the VOB(s) in either VirtualDubMod or DGindex, it shows as 704x480. Is that possible? What's going on here?

That's close to a rule 1 violation.

My apologies, I guess since I had never seen it before in hundreds of rips, it didn't cross my mind that the answer was that obvious. Thanks for the guidance!
