Hello,

I always take the follow sizes 480x576 and save each picture as Bitmap. That will work just fine.

What other sizes are valid besides the regular 480X480 for NTSC SVCD?

Is 640X480 a valid size?

I know 704X480 is valid as this is the size made by Roxio VideoPack.

Also, are the still images made by D2S are Movie (Progressive) or Video (Interlaced)? And what's the valid duration for MPEG stills (4 seconds or less etc.)?

Any information on MPEG stills in SVCD (MPEG2 Stills) is highly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for your reply. I am pretty comfortable with VCDImager XML and I always manipluate it to make MENU's. So, I know how to increase the length of the title picture as well as how to create the menu's. Also, from your thread I understood that 640X480 is good for the still image. I wonder why D2S resizes the Title Picture to 480X480!!

Can you tell me how to use the MJPEGTools from VCDEasy to encode the STILL MPEG image?

Also, I think 704X480 and 720X480 are also allowed as MPEG stills in SVCD. Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Amit!
You can download VcdEasy here (http://www.vcdeasy.org/modules.php?name=_Downloads).
You can download VCDEasy full (Mjpeg Tools included), or VCDEasy minimal and Mjpeg Tools Seperate. Its really simple to create the Stills, just go to tools and you will see. The most options are self - explaining and the others you can leave to default.

If you take other resolutions with VCDEasy than I have explained, the picture will be fit to full screen, and you wont have the right aspect rartio.

Thanks for the info. Do you know what's the command line syntax for encoding the MPEG Still? Since the interface won't let me uncheck "Aspect Ratio". I want to choose 1:1 aspect ratio and not 4/3 or 16/9.

Thanks for helpig again.

@amit
sorry, donīt know the syntax. But I think that the aspect ratio correction for SVCD canīt be unchecked, even with the commandline (only for VCD).
But the only thing, you need along with DVD2SVCD, is an aspect ratio correction of 4/3. Maybe the "donīt maximize samll images" is the option, you are searching for?
