Hello,
I'd need to scale down the bitrate of my VTS_01_0.VOB as that menu file is really huge. I re-encoded it with rempeg and tried to use rempeg to remux it in the original vob, but this seems to loose the navigation point the the file.
Any way to do that with ifoedit, as I only figured how to remux files for the movies vobs ?
Thanks

First, you can forget the remux function in Rempeg.
It produces absolute crappy VOB files.
Second, remuxing/transcoding a menu-vob file doesn't work that very well yet. We have to wait a bit for new features in IfoEdit, that makes this menu-remuxing easier.
For you last question. There are so many threads here describing how to remux m2v files with IfoEdit. So just take closer look at this forum.

yep, I've seen rempeg remux function sucks :)
For my last question, I was asking how to do it in the menu vobs, as I know how to do remux,strip and so on in the movie vobs. Sorry for my bad English ...
Thanks for your answer, so I'll wait for a new version of ifoedit which will handle the remux in menu vobs.

Hi,
huge menu vob files tend to have multiple languages versions build in (example MIB).
@Derrow:
Do you see a chance to strip out add'l languages out of menu VOBs ???
Again, you may check that with MIB.

@mikeathome
of course! If the Menu VOB containes Language-Units, then simply use the option 'Strip LUs' in IfoEdit.
Then will get rid of the other language stuff, what will make the Menu VOB smaller about the half size.

Ok, but I have now a menu-file thatīs 300mb long and there are no other languages in it.
If somebody please could tell me how to remux this menu-file i will be able to decrease the size. It īs important, because itīs a film that is 2:30 long, so I canīt keep the menue very big.
Is there anyone who knows how to remux the menue-file ???
thx,mcp

Hui!
i have tried that twice one time it worked to rempeg the the file the other time it failed. But i think this is a good question how to remux the menue file. I would guess to rename it to create a new ifo file and that could it be all, or am i in doubt?

I'm happy to see some other people are in the same need as I am :)
That's what I had, a huge menu file where they incuded many stuff like pictures galleries which are made as menus linked together. So I gotta find a way to decrease the pictures quality as there is nothing I can get rid of.
Re-encoding the video of that huge menu from 8000kbs to something like 3000 would be really helpfull.
