I have megui
0.3.1.1015

I'm having trouble getting perfect size.
trouble megiu bitrate calc.
I chose the size to be 10mb it came out 9.41mb
I chose the size 1.45gb it came you 1.30gb
why is that
any solution to that?
do I need another bitrate calc if yes any suggestion?

Could it be that you're getting undersize encodes because your bitrate is so high the video codec has nothing left to encode? What are you encoding?

How are you measuring the output size? binary or decimal format for storage?

I"m encoding form DVD9 which is around 8gb
I want to make a 1/3 DVDrip but I:m not successful since its coming out 1.30gb when I want 1.45GB. maybe this version of megui calc has some problem ..?

Are you factoring in the audio file size and any subtitles?

Ok, so your source is 720x480. Are you encoding anamorphically at the original size, resizing and encoding anamorphically, or just resizing?
Which video codec are you using?
How long is the video clip you're encoding? Throw one of the "bad ones" into MediaInfo and see what the bitrate is.

I've had no problems with MeGUI's calculator, but you must know what you're doing: make sure the audio parameters are set correctly and account for B-frames and the appropriate muxing overhead. This is all done automatically, but make sure you remember to set these parameters correctly.

nope not @ all just encoding the video.

just resizing..XviD....2hours.....

didn't get this part?

exactly what I'm doing accounting for B frames etc.

What average bitrate are you using and what are the dimensions of your encoded file?
