after encoding Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, i noticed that one scene had really blocky walls. i've heard that this movie compresses well, so i wanted to get the perfect encode.
i used the compressibility check to the best of my ability with different filters and resolutions, but i'm not that good at interpreting the results of the compression test. i basically just follow the guide because i haven't really found out what my eyes like best yet.
i know which scene i want to compare across filters and resolutions, but how can i set up GKnot to encode just that 1 or 2 minutes of the movie?
edit: is this a job for DVD2AVI?
