Okay I used dvd2svcd build 1.05 setup build id 4 but had problems burning images which where 800 meg and I cannot get them on a 80 min cd.
So to cure this I installed build 1.06 setup build id1.
When I am in the ripping process on THE GIFT(pal)I get the following error message.

I/O error 23
video_ts\vts_01_4.vob
bug report as follows:
access violation at address 004040a3 in modules 'dvd2svcd' read of address 000feo61.

Can anybody enlighten me on watch this means.

Any help appretiated.

BTW the search feature is enabled now ;)

And 797 MB cd size works fine for 80 min cds in 1.05 build 4.

Cheers m8 i will check out the search.
I donot understand why I cannot burn these images it is not my pc I do them on its my sisters so I really need to sit down and sort it out.
The only software I could get to burn the images was fireburner but it gives read errors at end of disk.

Thanks

That's because your burner does not supporting overburning. dvd2svcd got the got cut point wrong so that to get an image under 80 mins you had to use 797 MB. Using the default of 800 MB resulted in an image greater than 80 minutes (if only slightly). No big deal IMO as it was easily fixed ;)

I will have to check on wheather or not the writer can overburn!!pretty shite if it cannot, I should think it can overburn as the pc was reciently purchased.

I have just spoken to my sister and she is saying that dvd2svcd is saying it has made an image even though it gave the error whilst ripping so I will go and have a look tommorow.

I suggest you open the vts_01_4.vob in DVD2AVI (installed as part of dvd2svcd) and use the slider to see whether it ripped okay.

Thanks thats a great help I will have a look later.

The pc I use has the harddisk partitioned into 3 drives.
My first rip was 15 gig and left less than a gig on drive c.
Do you know if it will work if I select the audio files etc to be saved on the second large partition so that the files are spread between the partitions.

Yes it will work if you save files on different partions, just make sure the paths are set properly, and you should be fine.

Alright although there was an error ripping when using dvd2svcd it has made a 1 cd image of the first 4 vob files and the resulting disk is 58 minutes and works.

I have used smart ripper to rip the remaining 3 but I do not now know how to continue the process with dvd2svcd.

Also what is the best way to rip with smartripper but do the rest with dvd2svcd.

Cheers
